IRC Europeans incorporating the Commodores Cup

The IRC Europeans incorporating the Commodores Cup is this year being hosted by the RORC and will take place in the central Solent in mid June. The IRC rating bands have been set from 0.995 to 1.270 incorporating the most active and competitive IRC racing boats. Optimised for inshore racing and having just undergone some exciting modifications, she will be ready and raring to go for the Caribbean season in 2019! Round 1

May 10 - May 12

Round 1 of the 2019 FAST40+ circuit will be the RORC Vice Admiral's Cup from the 10th-12th May. The Solent based, inshore regatta brings together six classes for three days of intense, close racing across two courses.

Round 2

June 14 - June 16

Round 2 of the 2019 FAST40+ circuit will be a long weekend regatta running in conjunction with the Poole Regatta and will consist of a 9 race series. The races are approximately 60 to 90 minutes in duration for the lead boat and use either windward-leeward or round the buoys type of courses in the Central Solent area.

Round the Island Race

The Round the Island Race is organised annually by the Island Sailing Club and is one of the largest yacht races in the world attracting over 1,700 boats and around 16,000 sailors. Competitors travel from all across the UK and Europe for the 50 nautical mile course around the Isle of White. Round 3 – Fast 40+ IRC Nationals

The FAST40+ Nationals will be Round 3 of the 2019 FAST40+ circuit. The FAST40+ Nationals will consist of a long weekend of racing based in the Solent with a series of 9 races planned. Round 4 – HYS Fast 40+ National Championship

Round 4 of the Fast 40+ Race Circuit will be the HYS FAST40+ National Championship, organised by the Royal Thames Yacht Club. Eight races are scheduled over three days of red hot sailing in the Solent with Windward Leeward and Round the Buoys racing in the mix.

Round 5 – One Ton Cup

The One Ton Cup has been contested, in one form or another since 1899. In 2002 it looked like it might be the last year of the event, however in 2016 the One Ton Cup was sailed for by the FAST40+ fleet. 14 Fast40+ teams entered, flying the flags of six separate nations. The One Ton Cup forms Round 5 of the 2019 FAST40+ circuit and will be hosted by La Société des Régates du Havre in Le Havre this year.…

Round 6 – Hamble Big Boat Championships

October 11 - October 13

The 6th and final round of the 2019 FAST40+ Race Circuit will be held at RSYC. The event will see the boats sail 6 races in the Central Solent area lasting 60 – 90 minutes for the lead boat. The FAST40+ Class will have its own class start and the FAST40+ boats will sail a mixture of windward – leeward and round the buoys course. An epic finish to the 2019 Race Circuit!
